The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a technical mentoring session for third-year CSE students on August 31, 2024. The session was conducted by Er. S. Abishek, a 2016 alumnus and Senior Software Engineer at Turing, USA. During the session, Er. Abishek provided valuable guidance on creating LinkedIn, GitHub, and LeetCode profiles. He advised students to use Glassdoor to research companies before interviews and encouraged them to target Tier 1 companies, which offer higher salary packages but require strong skills in data structures and algorithms. He highlighted that US companies pay in dollars per hour, with a minimum wage of 14 dollars per hour, and mentioned the potential benefits of 44ADA income for employees. He also noted the importance of being prepared to work overlapping hours with US companies (9 PM to 10 AM). Er. Abishek emphasized the need for technical aptitude and communication skills, recommended the use of BydeBydego, and advised students to include links to their LeetCode, GitHub, and LinkedIn profiles in their resumes. Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan expressed gratitude to the resource person, and the session was organized by Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan and coordinated by Dr. E. Manohar.
