The guest lecture on the topic “Procedure for Higher Studies in Abroad” was conducted on 01-08-2023. The resource person for the guest lecture was Er. Raji Subbiah, (Alumnus 2014 Passed Out), Graduate Telecommunications Engineer, Mott MacDonald, Birmingham, United Kingdom. Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan, Welcomed and introduced the resource person. The resource person interacted with the third year CSE students and shared her experiences. She explained about the entrance exam for the abroad studies. She advised the students to be careful while choosing the country, university and course. She also said that, if they apply for higher studies with in 2 years after the graduation and also if they can able to submit that their medium of graduation is English language then they may get exception from the entrance test. She also told that some university have application fee and some universities don’t have application fee. She explained about the statement of course and also, she taught about how to prepare the statement of course. She said that some university may admit students once in a year where several universities may admit students 3 to 4 times in a year. She told it may take a minimum of one year preparation for getting admission. She explained about the fees structure and about the part time job option. She explained about the scholarship scheme. She explained about the academic procedures in foreign universities. She also explained about the procedure of periodic exam marks for the calculation of final marks. She taught about dissertation preparation and advised the students to avoid plagiarism. She taught the students about preparing their resume. She advised the students to have LinkedIn account and also to prepare covering letter for the resume. She explained about IES Exam and its procedure. She said that they mainly focus on reading, writing, listening and speaking. Dr. R. Ravi, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was arranged and coordinated by Dr. E.
