The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a guest lecture on "How to be an Excellent Project Manager" on October 9, 2024, for the 4th Year CSE students. The session was led by Er. Anto Joel Valan Mutharasu, Founder and CEO of Zenanvibe. The event began with a warm welcome and introduction by Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan.
During the lecture, Er. Anto Joel Valan Mutharasu shared insights into the daily life of a startup founder managing projects. He discussed product management and compared human project management with AI-driven approaches, emphasizing that AI lacks soft skills and communication abilities that humans excel at. He also addressed the students' expectations of the IT industry and highlighted the trend from no-code to low-code platforms.
He stressed the importance of both technical and soft skills in the workplace and explained the key roles and responsibilities in software project management. He humorously described project management tasks like chaos coordination, deadline management, micromanagement, and navigating blame. Er. Anto also encouraged students to build a strong presence on LinkedIn. The session concluded with a lively Q&A session. Dr. E. Manohar delivered the vote of thanks and coordinated the event.
