The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a guest lecture on "Building Generative AI-Powered Web Applications" on September 14, 2024, for the 4th Year CSE students. The session was conducted by Er. Esakki Raja M, AI Engineer at SkillRank. The event began with a warm welcome by G. Aravind Swaminathan, followed by an introduction of the speaker by Dr. E. Manohar.

During the lecture, Er. Esakki Raja discussed the crucial role programming languages play in building applications, emphasizing that frameworks are the backbone of application development. He explained how artificial intelligence (AI) analyzes different data types to understand patterns, enabling AI to perform tasks like image and video manipulation, such as facial feature swapping.

He further explained the client-server model, where AI analyzes client requests and produces specific services or outputs. Tools like Phind were highlighted for their utility in AI development. Er. Esakki Raja also spoke about various job opportunities through on-campus/off-campus recruitment, social media, and freelancing platforms. Additionally, he introduced SkillRank, that provides services and supports application development.

The session also covered the process of developing AI applications and leveraging social media to build a successful career in the IT industry. The lecture concluded with an engaging Q&A session. Dr. E. Manohar delivered the vote of thanks and was responsible for organizing and coordinating the event.
