Freshers Orientation Talk by Industry Expert

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Freshers Orientation Talk by an Industry Expert for First-Year CSE students on September 6, 2024. The session was led by Er. S. Abishek, a distinguished 2016 alumnus, Best Outgoing Student of the College in 2016, and currently a Senior Software Engineer at Turing, USA. Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan introduced the resource person.
Er. S. Abishek began by addressing the I CSE A class, followed by I CSE B, and concluded with a combined session for I CSE C and I CSE D. He spoke about the moral, ethical, and technical responsibilities of the students and guided them on emerging technologies. He encouraged the students to publish patents and actively participate in symposiums, events, and competitions. He emphasized the importance of communication skills in the industry and discussed the growing significance of artificial intelligence. He also shared a corporate mantra, "Fail Fast," underscoring that early failures lead to lesser losses. Additionally, he stressed the importance of academic excellence for securing good placement opportunities and advised students to create LinkedIn profiles.
